Alliance Forum Foundation Development Programme (AFDP) Division - AFDP is working to implement innovative initiatives in developing countries to support independent and sustainable development. These initiatives include the Spirulina Project, bracNet project, and activities to nurture a new generation of microfinance professionals.

2013 Fall/Winter 'Financial Services for the Poor' Professional Development Course: Now Accepting Applicants

  • Winter: December 8 - December 14, 2013 

 

 The 'Financial Services for the Poor' professional development course brings together the experience of various microfinance institutions in Bangladesh and expert faculty to provide a comprehensive and well-rounded picture of the state of the pro-poor financial services industry.


The courses will be led by Dr. Syed M. Hashemi, Director of the Development Institute of BRACUniversity and Senior Microfinance Specialist of CGAP (Consultative Group to Assist the Poor) and leading practitioners and academics from across the field of microfinance.

2012 World Alliance Forum in Stanford

The Alliance Forum Foundation hosts the 2012 World Alliance Forum, “Investing for a Brighter Future

The Alliance Forum Foundation successfully held the 2012 World Alliance Forum in Stanford on October 2. The keynote speeches were given by Mr. Yoshiyuki Kasai, the Chairman of the Central Japan Railway Company, and Mr. Lou Thompson, former Railway Advisor of the World Bank. In the panel discussion, we also invited Mr. Nick Rothman, the co-founder of Green Gears. Addressing the future of transportation and power of the private sector in the industry, the Forum received favorable reviews from more than 160 participants. 

 

Also, we proudly announce the winner of the giveaway of a roundtrip ticket to Japan, Ms. Tiphanie Gammon, a student at Stanford University. Congratulations, Tiphanie!
