Supporting the Creation of a Post-computer Age

Supporting the Creation of a Post-computer Age

The term "core industry" refers to a dynamic mainstay industry that becomes the driving force for all industries in a particular age. Historical examples of core industries include the steam engine based industry, the textile industry, and most recently, the Information Technology (IT) industry.

As the Computer Age draws to a close, the Alliance Forum Foundation (AFF) is actively working to support the development of a new core industry that will replace the computer-centric IT industry in the Post-computer age. AFF's activities in this area specifically focus on nurturing a core industry based on Pervasive Ubiquitous Communications or "PUC" architecture.

Deploying Technology to Change the World

The Alliance Forum Foundation believes that state of the art technology has the inherent power to improve the quality of life for people across the world.

The Foundation's vision is to deploy state of the art technology to help change the world for the better. At present, the foundation is implementing a model initiative based on this vision in Bangladesh.

The bracNet Project is currently underway in Bangladesh, a least developed country in South Asia. This project will help to establish distance learning and telemedicine initiatives to improve the quality of life for rural populations.
