We are pleased to announce that the next 'Financial Services for the Poor' professional training course will be held from April 22nd to May 4th 2011 in Bangladesh. This course brings together the experience of various microfinance institutions across Bangladesh and expert faculty. The course will be lead by Dr. Syed M. Hashemi, Director of the Development Institute of BRAC University and the Senior Microfinance Specialist of CGAP (Consultative Group to Assist the Poor). The course also includes lectures from leading practitioners from across the field of microfinance and will include extensive field visits.

On May 26th 2010 the Alliance Forum Foundation held the World Alliance Forum Zambia at the University of Zambia (UNZA) in Lusaka. The forum focused on creating new partnerships between the Japanese private sector and the Republic of Zambia. This event lasted from 4pm to 6pm on the campus of UNZA and included a formal inauguration ceremony for the launch of an advanced, real-time distance learning system connecting UNZA and Copperbelt University located 400 kilometers to the north of the forum.

We are pleased to announce the launch of the 'Financial Services for the Poor' Diploma Course to be held in Bangladesh, 31 October- 20 December 2010. The seven week course is intended for Microfinance Institution (MFI) managers, donors, funders with a microfinance portfolio, and students seeking careers in microfinance. It provides a practical curriculum of the management of microfinance and it will be grounded in the experience of Bangladesh.
