Building well-educated and healthy middle-class around the world
Public Interes Capitalism
Public Interest Capitalism aims to create an economic society that enriches people
The world is currently struggling with the challenges of widening disparities and social divisions. The cause of this is an overemphasis on shareholder capitalism and financial economics, which values maximizing shareholder profits. It is the real economy, not stock prices, that enriches people. Let us aim to create a new economic society based on public interest capitalism.
Public interest refers to "economic and spiritual prosperity for ourselves and our descendants." As a "public institution of society," a company should contribute to society through its business activities. Public interest capitalism is the axis for considering how management and systems should be designed so that the world will be filled with people who are economically and spiritually prosperous, both now and in the future.
Founded in the United States in 1985 by Takehito Hara, the company aims to "create an educated, healthy, and prosperous middle class around the world." It began full-scale operations in Japan in 2011 and has since expanded its bases across Asia, including Hong Kong, Thailand, and Malaysia.

Who will create a prosperous society?
Sustainable growth and fair distribution are the keys
Public interest capitalism is the idea that by fairly distributing the results of a company's growth to all its members, employees will be enriched and further growth will be generated, thereby enriching society. To achieve this, the key is not for the country or for someone else to do it, but for each individual to demonstrate their strengths.
"Shachu" refers to the people who support the company, including employees, customers, suppliers, local communities, the earth, and mid- to long-term shareholders.

Dear Business Owners,
The key to creating a virtuous cycle of distribution and growth is our employees and their enthusiasm. This will not be achieved by simply pursuing short-term profits. Based on public interest capitalism, we must practice management methods that will enable employees, the company, and society to achieve sustainable growth over the medium to long term and increase their health and prosperity.

To all employees
One of the three principles of practicing public interest capitalism is "daily improvement through entrepreneurial spirit." How will your work improve society? The key to this lies in the ability to see things from a bird's-eye view. Under the principles of public interest capitalism, let's make friends who want to make society better and put this into practice together.

To Students,
In this age of high uncertainty, the "right answer" cannot be found by searching. It is something that is created by thinking for yourself, formulating hypotheses, honing your on-site sense, verifying them, and making decisions. The key to this is the idea of what you want the future to be like 50 years from now. Let's draw up a vision for this together and create a practical strategy.
About Chairman George Hara
Hara Jouji, an archaeologist, studied in the United States to raise funds for his archaeology, and started a business while he was a student. He later became the second-largest venture capitalist in the United States. However, he rebelled against the American business world's view that "companies belong to shareholders," and advocated public interest capitalism.

Human resource development, management support, and system proposals for the implementation of public interest capitalism
As a "public institution of society," the company contributes to society through its business.
We will develop human resources who can put this idea into practice, create a collaborative system that will enable this type of management, and propose improvements to the systems and rules that form its foundation. The Alliance Forum Foundation is working with many people to create an ecosystem that will transform society into a new economic society based on public interest capitalism.
